Despite being a orang Cina, i raised eyebrows whenever i say i watch Malay drama series on a regular basis. Don't get me wrong, i still watch American, and other Asian movies or dramas.

China - South China trip 2011
In 2010, when I was a member of Teochew Association of Kuching, I was “thrown” to join Federation of Chinese Youth of Kuching-Samarahan (wow that's a long name 晋汉省华青团). Well, I'm not going to elaborate on details of the two mentioned organizations, you may read description here http://www.abshost.com/huazong/qtyl.php . Anyway, in short, they were locally ethnic-based, non-political, mainstream Chinese community - with lots and lots of exposure in local Chinese newspaper.
After I joined the association, I was presented with an opportunity for an official trip to China, even better, fully sponsored by the Government of China! The purpose of the official visit was to create a platform bridge overseas Chinese with mainland China. The government would provide accommodation, foods, and would provide transport to us. I was later told this type of event was scarce, it's something available every year and they had limitation of seats available.
Despite not close to the people of the organization, I did not hesitate long to join them. Well, I have no regrets joining the trip! After the trip, I became friends with those who follow trip, and boy I had quite a lot of fun there.
The official event at Guangdong province only covered three places, Dongguan 东莞,Jieyang 揭阳,and Zengcheng 增城。After completing the official event, we continued with our holiday at Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and followed lastly by Macau. We flew back to Malaysia from Macau airport at the end of our trip.
There were seven of us who stick together for the entire trip (including attending official events and later the self-guided holiday). Overall, we were quite satisfied with the trip: it was fun, I made new friends with these mates in the tour, got a chance to live a luxury life (no kidding) under the sponsorship of China government. It was great as we got along quite well with each other, I don't remember having any conflict at all - maintaining good compatibility over the course of over a week was not easy.
We made friends with local China people which I still keep contact until today (since 2010, now already 5 years!), special thanks to existence of social media! In fact, amazingly when I met those China people, the popularity of social media and smart phone was not that high. At that time I had not had my first smart phone yet! I remember asking for their contact by scribbling using pen-and-papers, lucky I didn't lose them. Another thing to take note was, the social media I use to maintain contact with the China friends is not Facebook (banned in China), or Friendster, we used QZone and QQ to keep in touch.
After the trip, we wrote 7 articles which were published in all local Chinese newspaper. I contributed 4 articles, which I cannot believe I could achieve as I was quite bad in Chinese.

Shortfall of this trip was probably, the whole trip was too rush. We should have planned at least two nights per city, to reduce having to check-in and check-out hotel everyday.

Japan Tokyo 2012, holiday itinerary for 7 days
Tokyo is a wonderful place, soooo many places to visit. Put at least a week on Tokyo alone and don't bother to go plan Osaka or Hokkaido into your Tokyo trip. In fact, I would recommend up to 10 days at Tokyo!
Day 1 : Arriving at Haneda airport. Sleep at capsule hotel.
Day 2 : Ueno Park - Ameyoko
Day 3 : Tokyo Sky Tree - Asakusa Sensoji Temple - Sumida River cruise - Odaiba
Day 4 : Enoshima -Kamakura > Shinjuku
Day 5 - DisneySea
Day 6 - We raced many places within Tokyo for that day - thanks to unlimited Metro pass: Tsukiji Fish Market > Tsukishima > Ginza > Hibiya (to watch Bon Odori ceremony) > Shibuya > Roponggi
Day 7 - Hakone > Shinjuku
Day 8 - Harajuku > Yoyogi Park. Fly back to Malaysia in evening.
As you can see, 8 days is not enough. Places like Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza and Odaiba - these places we can easily spend a day or two! We have not covered other interesting places such as Disneyland, Kawasaki, Nikko, Akibahara, and many others. Now do you believe me you need 10 days at Tokyo alone?

Australia Sydney-Melbourne travel itinerary for 10 days in year 2013
We decided to go to two cities for this trip. From KL, we fly to Sydney. Then, we fly using Tiger Airways (which was really scary and really sucks!) from Sydney to Melbourne.
SYDNEY travel - we spent 5 days there, mainly in cities area. https://www.facebook.com/hochiomeng/media_set?set=a.10152106411644503.1073741838.771619502&type=1
Video at Sydney http://www.youtube.com/
Day 1 : Arrival at Sydney, check-in Y Hyde Park Hotel
Day 2 : The Rocks tourist information center; the fantastic Mexican buffet; fun time at Madame Tussauds; dinner and shopping for uniform at China Town; Coles, our discovery for solution to our thirst for freshwater.
Day 3 : A very long scenery walk at beaches - Coogee-Bondi; cold evening at Watson Bay; "The Burgers are better at Hungry Jacks"
Day 4 : Cheesy lobster at Fish Market; Whale Watching buffet + feeding the whale; Pancakes on the Rocks.
Day 5 : Walking across Harbour Bridge; Wildlife Park; disappointing Norton Street: shopping Westfield Bondi Junction; nasty people at King's cross
Day 6 : Fish Market revisit; To airport for unforgettable flight to Melbourne using Tiger Airways - that's gotta be our first and last time using this $#@! airline!
MELBOURNE travel - we spent most of the time on day trips.
1) Great Ocean Road - https://www.facebook.com/hochiomeng/media_set?set=a.10152145195694503.1073741839.771619502&type=3
This would be our driving route - CBD head to Geelong, first stop definitely the information center to gather information before driving to visit wineries and Geelong statues; spend the night at Apollo Bay; On the next morning (gotta be very early, from Apollo Bay, set off for 12 Apostles, before heading to see wind turbines. But our plan may have to be altered to suit the situation.
2) Phillip Island - https://www.facebook.com/hochiomeng/media_set?set=a.10152296993394503.1073741841.771619502&type=3
We took a guided package tour with Go West to Phillip Island to see penguins, which cost A$150. It was a bit expensive, but there doesn't seem to be a better way to travel Phillip Island. Research readings suggest touring Phillip Island using public transport was not recommended. Besides, driving long distance back from Phillip Island back to Melbourne was somewhat risky.
Anyway, the fabolous tourist guide made our trip quite enjoyable.
3) Melbourne CBD - https://www.facebook.com/hochiomeng/media_set?set=a.10152297926819503.1073741842.771619502&type=3

SUGGESTION : You can skip OCT East Tea Stream Valley, that place sucks. May include other more interesting places such as Windows of the World, 欢乐世界, The Minks Russian battleship, Beaches etc. Remember download offline Baidu maps before you go, Android Google Maps have problem with its offline after upgraded to Version 7 onwards?
I would recommend Mafengwo http://www.mafengwo.cn/jd/10198/0-0-0-0-0-1.html for research, apart from the usual Wikitravel and Tripadvisor.
